Pakistan urges UK to press India to stop HR violations in held Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has urged Britain to press India to stop human rights violations being conducted by its military in Occupied Kashmir.

Talking to British National Security Adviser Sir Mark Lyall Grant in Islamabad on Sunday, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi said it is incumbent on Britain to ask India to enter into a sustained dialogue process with Pakistan for peaceful settlement of the issues.

The special assistant also briefed the visiting dignitary about Pakistan’s serious efforts to promote lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan, including the Afghan-owned and Afghan-led reconciliation process through the Quadrilateral Coordination Group.

Sir Mark Lyall Grant acknowledged the important role being played by Pakistan in promoting peace and stability in the region. He reaffirmed the UK’s continued support to Pakistan.

The meeting also underscored the importance Pakistan attaches to its relations with the United Kingdom and noted that partnership between the two countries was moving in the right direction. Fatemi highlighted the improved security situation and its positive impact on economic revival in Pakistan.
